Parasitic Surveillance Potentialities Based on a GEO-SAR Illuminator

نویسندگان

چکیده

Synthetic aperture radar systems operating with satellites in geosynchronous orbits (GEO-SAR) can provide a permanent coverage of wide specific areas the Earth’s surface. As well as for primary applications remote sensing such soil moisture and deformation monitoring, availability signal emitted by GEO-SAR on regional scale makes it an appealing illuminator opportunity bistatic radars. Different types receiving-only devices located or near Earth could exploit same source, noticeably already conceived purposes, framework both military civil surveillance. This paper provides overview possible parasitic enabled different operative scenarios, including aerial, ground maritime For each selected scenario, receiver configurations are proposed, providing assessment achievable performance discussions about expected potentialities challenges. research aims at serving roadmap designing relying signals, also extending net potential users interested investing missions.

Space-based surface change detection with differential Synthetic-Aperture Radar (SAR) Interferometry: potentialities and preliminary investigations

The capability of measuring small crustal deformation by means of differential Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interferometry (DIFSAR) is investigated in this work. After outlining the mathematical background inherent to the principles of differential SAR interferometry and showing the potential and limits of the information content of spaceborne DIFSAR data, the analysis of the impact of this t...

The influence of parasitic capacitors on SAR ADC characteristics

Abstract: The analysis of the effect of the parasitic capacitors of the split capacitor array on the successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter’s charachteristics is presented. The Verilog-A model of the split capacitor array is developed based on the analysis. The model takes the effects of parasitic capacitors into account, and the values of these parasitic capacitors can b...

Correcting Spatial Variance of RCM for GEO SAR Imaging Based on Time-Frequency Scaling

Compared with low-Earth orbit synthetic aperture radar (SAR), a geosynchronous (GEO) SAR can have a shorter revisit period and vaster coverage. However, relative motion between this SAR and targets is more complicated, which makes range cell migration (RCM) spatially variant along both range and azimuth. As a result, efficient and precise imaging becomes difficult. This paper analyzes and model...

Geo-spatial Active Visual Surveillance on Wireless Networks

This paper reviews some of the history of automated visual surveillance, from the second and third generation VMD days of the early 1990s, to the current state of the art. It discusses the inherent limitations that resulted in an nearly negligible “increase” in performance throughout the 1990s and still exist in commercially available systems. Then we review an approach that overcomes these lim...
